Monalisalocs^TM are a registered trademark of Caribbean locks. They were created in 2018 by Lisa ALEXANDER MCCLEAN.

These are very thin locks that can look like very small mats with more volume.
They are neither braids, nor vanillas, nor crochet.
It is a particular technique of intertwining fine strands of hair.
Several interlacing schemes have been studied and created to adapt to different hair textures and the desired rendering.

The 3 pillars of Monalisalocs^TM are :
- The meticulous grid that determines the rendering of future locks
- The use of a patented tool
- The singular technique which allows to have a regular and uniform rendering

Monalisalocs^TM can only be installed by trained and certified Specialists

Sisterlocks that can only be installed by a Certified Sisterlocks Consultant.

Lisa and Clarisse are also trained and certified by the Sisterlocks brand.

The installation of Sisterlocks is also done according to a precise grid, with a dedicated tool and a particular technique.

It is impossible to tell the difference between Monalisalocs^TM and Sisterlocks to the unprofessional eye.
However, we invented the techniques of Monalisalocs^TM so that they are tighter to limit the risk of unraveling, for the most flexible hair textures.

The microlocks are started with mats or vanillas and will not necessarily become with prior training. There is no standard of grid, size, tool or maintenance. Microlocks installations are less expensive than those of Monalisalocs^TM because they cannot benefit from particular expertise, fewer hours of work and attention to detail, but they can also require more time for maintenance and for the maturation of the locks.
